Both Nylon (also known as Polyamide) and Polyester are superb fabric choices for swimwear as both are “tough" materials that can withstand the heavy use of constant body movements. Both materials are resistant to shrinkage, which of course is a must for apparel we use in water most, if not all the time.
Nylon and Polyester are synthetic fabrics, meaning they are manufactured.
Here are some other features of the fabrics. It might help you decide which swimwear to buy.
Moisture Absorbency: Both Nylon and Polyester have low moisture absorbency, so you won't feel the swimwear weighing on you after your dip. However, Nylon has much less (some articles say zero) absorbency than Polyester. It also means that Nylon-made swimwear dries quicker than a Polyester-made one.
